Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do custom work?
Sometimes.  I can do some custom work with trees, wine goblets & tumblers, and birds.  To determine if I can make your request happen, we will go through a process: 1) You share your idea and specific requests; 2) I think about it and decide if I can do it or not.  If I can, I draw out a sketch, determine needed materials, troubleshoot potential problems, and come up with an estimate and a sketch of the idea for you to review; 3) If my plan and the price works for you, you pay in full and I make your piece. Yay!

What happens if something I bought from you ends up breaking?
If your item is damaged during shipping, please let me know immediately upon receiving your product.  If the item received is not of the appearance or quality that you expected, please let me know so that we can work out a resolution.

Glass is a strong and versatile medium.  My products are made with precise technique using the finest glass materials and tools available.  All products are tested prior to sale to ensure durability and superior craftsmanship.  Even with this careful approach, glass is breakable.  Unfortunately, once the glass item is in your possession, I can no longer refund or replace the items at my cost.

However, if your glass item breaks, I may be able to closely replicate the order at your cost.  Please start a conversation with me and we can exchange photos, descriptions, etc. This is the benefit of working with a small studio where every item is hand made!

How can I best take care of this glass?
I strive to create functional and durable glass items.  I recommend caring for your hand made glass with the same treatment you give other prized dishes or art work.  To clean wine glasses, tumblers, and wine stoppers, I suggest carefully washing by hand in hot soapy water with a gentle rag or sponge.  Be careful not to shove the rag into the bowl of the glass which may cause it to burst from the inside (similar to washing other high quality glassware.)  My products are made of borosilicate glass, which is similar to "pyrex," and can withstand high heat.  Though the glasses should survive the dishwasher, you can wash them in this manner at your own risk (since other dishes can hit the glasses while the washer is running and damage the glass).

Our intensive product testing has revealed that the most common way a glass breaks is by dropping, extreme temperature change, and accidentally hitting it against a counter top, table edge, blunt object, or by dropping it into the sink while cleaning.  The bird wine stoppers are most likely to break by yanking on the bird's tail, dropping it, or by clipping the tail against a hard surface.  I take pride in creating functional and affordable art, and encourage you to use it daily and handle it with care.
